[You're pretty much a newly-formed team; you've barely had any time together, and yet it's just been one thing after another after another -- Taka isn't really a team so much as a gaggle of confused collector's items colliding with the worst family drama of all time, but you're all aware of that and maybe that's what makes it work.
At least, that's what everybody's probably going with right now.
You are pretty damn sure it doesn't actually make any sense nor is it actually going to last (seriously, you've had a whole team name change already and it's been, what, a week?), but that's the thing: there are few things in life that last, much like the morning mist, yada yada. Those are the things you don't bother to think about.
It's much better to focus on the present, even shrouded in mist as the Land of Thunder is -- you're all here gallivanting off into a foreign land, about to brew up one of the storms it's so damn famous for. Except this time, it's a storm from all the way around the world and here to turn the entire natural order of things upside down. Isn't that what you're all best at? None of you are anywhere close to the natural order of things.
That said, you're really not into this place for so many reasons. It is so not worth the trip.
"I'll take him down." Sasuke, ever-cocky and never listening to a thing anybody else says. He's got the raw strength to go through just about anything in his way, but the Thing in your way right now...
Well, it's some weird buff guy that you'd think was senile if not for his reputation -- maybe it's more like a raputation? he really, really likes to rap and it makes absolutely no sense whatsoever -- but he's the Eight-Tails, one of the most powerful creatures in this world and probably the next and you all are about to go head-on with him. You've got the right; Juugo's got the left; and Karin as always at your backs, even if you really want to question the wisdom of that decision if you stop to think about it. You don't really have time to think about it.
Time to not die as hard as you all can, even if you're all about as elite a bunch of shinobi as you're going to get at your age.
(It goes about as well as and definitely not as well as you'd expect, because you're all following Sasuke in your own ways and Sasuke just tries to go through anything in his way like a shredder instead of taking a detour or two. But there are some things in this world that really, really don't want to be moved. You clash. You swing your greatsword like your life depends on it; it does.
Killer Bee is so much stronger than you, and possibly all of you put together. It's like you're the insects here, even if you've got the advantage in numbers -- it's nothing. None of you hesitate -- you were honed for battle like the weapons you all carry, and there is no turning back. Also, his rapping is still absolutely awful and you'd really like to shut him up.
You clash. You all cover for each other as though your lives depend on it; they do. You're not a perfect team, but maybe it's enough.)
It's not enough. By far, because the man ruining rap for the youth of every generation is a team too unto himself: he has the Tailed Beast at his beck and call, its bulk dwarfing all the mountains around you and making the seas look like rainpuddles.
Oh, boy.
A few bits of water aren't going to do anything, but you know water and you breathe water and move it as though it were yourself -- that's what it means to be you, after all. You can move the entire sea against him if you really want to. You've already taken a few too many hits here (Land of Thunder, why did it have to be Land of Thunder), because that's what you were built to do from your atoms all the way back through the history of things. That's what it means to be a Houzuki.
Still, you think, as you put yourself and the sea in between team and beast: this is honestly ridiculous. That you're doing this. That it's the only way to survive and also, seriously, is this survival? It's a die or die situation, never mind doing anything. You're still not even sure this is an actual team of any kind, just the first thing to come along since your last one dissolved like so much mist under sunlight.
Well, there's nothing for it now. You're here, and the beast is gathering power, and wow this is really going to smart in the morning--
W2 Tuesday: just going to yeet return memshare here but it's the same general timeframe
