I've been actively searching for him ever since van Zieks' announcement this afternoon. I've also spoken with a couple individuals that know him, and they could not remember seeing him today either.
As far as I can tell, nobody has seen him since Wednesday night. I find it hard to believe he's trapped in a barrier like this.
And I'm guessing based on his... more polite demeanor that he's not really the type to just hide as a prank?
He could just have gotten lost or stuck on one of those adventures, seeing as we've got another one missing. So it doesn't necessarily have to be catastrophically bad news.
Even so, there's not a thing you, or anyone here can do about it at the moment. We're stuck.

[Sympathy is not what she expected from Spike. Not by a long shot. And yet, that's what makes it strike home, smothering the last embers of her frustration. She's been in this position before.

I almost lost him once before. He sought to help our newfound allies, and their own Emperor shot down their airship. We had no idea what had happened to him for weeks.
[There's something painful in that story, or the feeling behind it. Spike's not naive, he knows the girl's brother is probably long dead. But he understands the sheer helplessness of being unable to protect the ones you love when it counts.
God, he understands that.]

I got a... [You're not friends. You'll never be friends.] There's a girl back home I know who has a brat kid sister. There's nothing she wouldn't do to protect her. Die, kill, whatever, there's nothing she wouldn't do.
If he survived one near death experience, he'll do it again and you'll be back to getting under eachothers skin in no time.
