The theory I had was that the third party, who can "see things during the murder" located Mr. Rex's body in the storage room, and attempted to make it easier for us by pulling him out so he could be found. This could acknowledge why you were left behind in the storage room, as they were unaware of the fact that you were there in the back.

But this is only a theory. Otherwise, we get stuck in the mud of that question of "why move the body after he died"? To hide the method of death, perhaps?

If that was the case, no, it does not. I would think it more likely for it to be the murderer, in that case. Though why they would leave you behind...
