[In retrospect, maybe not the best thing to open with? But it's fine.]
Of course not. There was no way you could have been with the evidence hidden as it was.
[Which means that as soon as someone was missing, Xie Lian immediately suspected his own cousin... she can't imagine suspecting Alphinaud like that, even though he and Qi Rong are as different as light and dark.]
I'm amazed you were able to focus on anything else throughout the day. You checked many of us over for injuries, examined the body, ensured everybody stayed on task, and helped spring Xie Lian's trap... I wouldn't have had the patience.
. . . You are too generous. Everyone contributed to staying on task and examining the evidence. I only used the skills I have as a judicial assistant to provide the limited assistance I could.

Ah. Well, I assist a defense attorney in the courtroom. It varies depending on whom I assist. Often I must keep track of evidence and organize information and be able to refer as needed to lawbooks. But I have recently been working with Mr. Naruhodo, and he would be the first to admit he lacks training and some experience. So in addition to my duties I have assisted in investigations and in tutoring him in aspects of the British judicial system.

[And not this... catastrophe? Is that the right way to describe it? This complete mummer's farce.]
