[After all of the chaos of Thursday night and Friday morning, Alisaie is more than ready to get out of the hotel and set off on a loop around the town. Sure, there aren't any sin eaters to cull here, but it's still good to keep tabs on the area to know when something changes, right?
As she's going, she swings by the alleyway where she and Yoo Joonghyuk found the strange alarms. Even though they hadn't been able to turn the handle, she feels certain that they were responsible for the sirens last night.]
Susato? [Huh. Wasn't anticipating running into you again so soon, but it's not a bad thing.]
I take it you thought to examine our discoveries again as well?
[Alisaie has made it back to the hotel as well, but she's just dropped onto a bench, sinking down in it and resting her head against the back of the seat. But as she sees Susato, she's sitting up, lifting a hand in greeting.]
That was well done earlier. Had you and Xie Lian discussed such a tact ere we were brought to the opera house?
[Susato will learn soon enough that Alisaie is usually out running around most of the day, so it may have taken a try or two before she's in... but when she hears Susato's voice, she'll answer quickly.]
[It's. Not going to be hard for the two of them to meet up this night. After a couple of other conversations Alisaie and a trip outside for some fresh (?) evening air she's returning to their room... where she will promptly flop onto the bed, face down, and let out a loud groan as she smushes her pillow down over her head.
The only question is, is Susato already there or is this what she gets to walk in on? Because she's not keen on moving.]
[Alisaie's sitting in the grand salon this time, a handful of glass shards sitting in front of her on a small table. She's frowning at them intently, as though trying to make a decision, when she looks up and sees Susato.]
Oh, Susato. [Her frown disappears, replaced by a slight smile.] It's been strange not rooming with you this week. Did you have better luck wi--
["with your roommate" is what she means to say, but Taf chooses that time to jump up to the coffee table from the floor--and as he does, he drops one of his little paws onto one of the shards.]
[She's going to answer the question, but instead she's dropped into a memory. She can tell Alisaie is losing someone important to her, and facing up to that pain; the pain of knowing you can't save someone, all you can do is try to honour their last wishes. There are a few tears in her eyes when the memory finishes.]
[Alisaie will be in the salon! She's sitting with Taf in her lap and the two of them are looking at each other very intently. It's kind of weird. But when she hears Susato's voice, she'll straighten up some and look in her direction--her own voice is a little subdued.]
He ought to be fine, given time. The worst of it is over, thank the Twelve.
[...]
Forgive me for snapping at you earlier. I know you were doing what was best for Rochalizo's sake.
[Susato can be found on Tuesday in the markets, in a wide sunhat, linen blouse, and belted trousers that are much cooler than her normal kimono attire and easier moving around in. She smiles when she sees Alisaie.]
Alisaie, hello. Are you finding anything interesting?
[It's a few hours later when she'll come to find Alisaie. She's been out on a walk, needing to get rid of that dreadful, nauseous feeling that's come over her. But she'll then go looking for her back at the house.]
. . . Perhaps it's irrelevant now. But we need to talk even so, I think.
[Wow!! This is miserable!!!! Alisaie's been trying herself to calm down after all of that to mixed effectiveness; Susato can absolutely find her back at the house, surprisingly still for once as she's staring at the wall.
But she shakes her head at Susato's words.]
I do not believe it to be any less irrelevant. Pray say what's on your mind.
[Sometime later that night, after running off like Cinderato, Alisaie (or her daemon) may spot Susato outside the castle, looking frantically for something that appears to be lost. She's moving very gingerly.]
[It's absolutely Taf who notices Susato; while her vision is beginning to return, it's mostly shadows. But Alisaie stops, watching her for a moment before approaching and calling out quietly, hesitantly.]
[She will come find Alisaie a little after trial, tired but still busily running errands all over. Ryutaro is in her arms in his hare form, subdued, nose twitching.]
[Susato can definitely find her! Alisaie hasn't been running around too much today, and she's staked out a small place in the square as her own. Come on over and join her; in spite of how terrible the day's been, the fountain is going and the atmosphere isn't wholly depressing...]
Hello, Susato. How have you been holding up after all that?
[For her part, Alisaie is a bit more subdued than normal and has been since the end of trial. Nanaly was a good friend.]
I'm sure the girls handled being roommates quite well because they've done it before, and it's only slightly awkward, so I'm setting this to Wednesday. Susato has ordered a bunch of room service breakfast - waffles with fruit and chocolate syrup, pastries, just entirely things for someone with too much of a sweet tooth.]
Good morning, Alisaie. Will you join me for breakfast this morning?
[With the possible exception of "oh my god, you're bleeding," it's probably been going swimmingly! But oh wow, this is a spread and it looks incredible??? You won't have to ask her twice.]
Certainly. If today follows the usual pattern, we'll need our energy for this afternoon.
[Why can't they have stuff like this every week??]
