Then I should gladly welcome you as a roommate. For the time being, at least; who knows if we'll wake up one day and find that we've been spirited away again.
[She takes a step back so that Susato can come in if she wants--she's not sure if she'll want to come in for now or go report back to Allen immediately, but either way...]
Trust me, I can say with absolute certainty that there is not a thing you could possibly do as a roommate that could trouble me. [There's a hint of a laugh in her voice as she says it.] I'm quite accustomed to strange circumstances.
I would not mind getting to know one another better, however.
[This time, she does laugh aloud.] Gods, where do I even start? You may wish to take a seat; this could take a while.
[She'll let the door fall closed as she heads back to the bed, taking a seat of her own.]
Most recently, my brother and I found ourselves pulled through time and space to a reflection of our world known as the First. The person who brought us there had been attempting to reach a mutual friend of ours and seized upon the wrong soul. [Beat, and then her smile turns into something more akin to a deadpan:] Four times.
[Then her airy tone is back, Alisaie lifting a hand to illustrate that it's water under the bridge... now.]
He did manage to summon our friend finally, though Alphinaud and I spent nearly a full year in the First before that happened.
[She's gotten a little bit of that vibe, tbh. But that's not a bad thing--she'd much rather hear that other worlds weren't constantly in danger and chaos!
She shakes her head at the question.] It's unheard of. Until I myself was pulled to the First and learned what had happened, all we knew was that those of us close to the Warrior of Light were being targeted by a strange voice from afar.
At any time we could be afflicted by a sudden, blinding pain that I now know to be our souls separating from our bodies. We would hear his voice calling out. And when the pain subsided... [Alisaie averts her eyes.] One of our number would have collapsed, their body still breathing while their soul disappeared from our realm.
[She's not. Trying to be dramatic about it. But she's still got a lot of complex feelings about that period of time that she's never really stopped to sort through.]
At any rate, no, Alphinaud and I are no strangers to being caught up in a battle that by all rights is not our own. [The corner of her mouth quirks, despite herself.] You might say it's our family legacy.
Please, don't be. [This time, the quirk morphs into a smile.] My grandsire believed that, were we but capable of aid, we had a responsibility to help those in need. It is a philosophy my brother and I share.
Our journey to the First was a strange one, and I know how scared our friends at home must have been before they received word of our health. But if anything I did made a difference to that world, I cannot regret the circumstances that brought me there.
[So. Yeah. U good Susato nothing you do will faze her. ...probably.]

[She will come in, in that case.]
I assure you, I will not trouble you at all. And perhaps we will be able to come to know one another better.

Then. . . perhaps you ought to tell me about some of these strange circumstances?
i'm so sorry lmao

you're good!
Is summoning a person via their soul an ordinary occurrence in your world? I suppose neither of you are strangers to our present circumstances.

That's awful. I'm sorry you and your brother had to live through that.
